The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has initiated an SMS service campaign to create awareness of the Omicron variation of the COVID-19 among students, teachers, and parents.
According to the Ministry, the public awareness campaign was initiated on the orders of Shafqat Mahmood, the Federal Minister of Education and Professional Training.
“The Federal Ministry of Education has initiated an SMS campaign to promote awareness on precautionary measures against coronavirus on the instruction of the Federal Minister for Education and Vocational Training, Shafqat Mahmood,” the ministry said in a Twitter post.
In the first step, the ministry worked with a telecom operator to reach 12 million subscribers with an awareness message. The initiative began in Islamabad and will be expanded throughout Pakistan in partnership with other telecom carriers.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about the new coronavirus variation and encourages parents, instructors, and students to adhere to the COVID-19 SOPs to the letter. The immunisation has also been made required for youngsters aged 12 and up, according to the government.
