Due to a scheduling conflict with local government elections, Sindh’s Education Department is considering delaying the yearly intermediate tests.

According to information, the tests will begin on June 15, and the first phase of the local body election will take place on June 16 in 14 districts across the province.

The Secretary of Sindh’s School Education and Literacy Department (SELD) will make the final decision in this regard during a meeting later today that will be attended by all involved parties.

If the secretary of the SELD authorizes deferring inter examinations until after the first round of local government elections, the start of the following academic year for intermediate students in these districts will be delayed by a few months as well.

The Education Department, on the other hand, has decided not to postpone tests in Karachi and Hyderabad because local body elections in these two districts would be placed in the second phase.

Local government elections in Karachi and Hyderabad will be held on July 24, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) schedule.
